Update all your hubs with just one click

Here are a few of the things we’ve been working on this month at Cambrionix

Update all your hubs with just one click. When you’re managing multiple hubs, updates can be time-consuming, even when you’re using super-fast hubs like ours. So we’ve been working on some significant updates that allow you to manage multiple hubs more easily, and update all your hubs at once with just one click.

Updated Firmware Management Capabilities:

As USB devices evolve and become more complex, Cambrionix smart USB hubs can be updated to enable you to manage your devices better. LiveViewer, our desktop application, can update all of your hubs with a single click making it easy for you to manage a large device deployment. To help simplify this process further, we’ve updated the firmware management page to provide more flexibility and feedback on the overall update process.

Here are some of the new features:

  • A new look and feel to the update process with a preview of what updates have been chosen before starting the process
  • Hubs can be grouped and selected to update the firmware as per your requirements
  • Specific hubs can be searched for and selected using a variety of search parameters
  • One click is all that is needed to update all your hubs with a live summary to let you monitor progress

New device information features:

To achieve the best USB performance across all your devices isn’t always straightforward. To do so requires the use of the right combination of hubs, cables, devices and their configuration. In a large deployment, this can be difficult to manage. To help simplify this and provide feedback on your configuration we’ve introduced device and hub performance information in our LiveViewer application.

Here are some of the new features:

  • Devices will indicate the communication speed and provide feedback when performance has been limited
  • Hubs will indicate whenever their performance has been limited by a host computer or parent hub
  • The device information page will provide additional details about its performance in your configuration
